In Treatment: a radio interview with the writers of the hit drama set in a therapist’s office.

November 3, 2010

I didn’t take to this show at first, but I have just started watching it again from the first series and it is good. Gabriel Byrne as Paul Weston plays a very credible therapist and watching it is often quite eerie, as I see Weston in the room with his clients.

The HBO series In Treatment, adapted from a popular Israeli show called BeTipul, starsGabriel Byrne as Paul Weston, a psychotherapist who sees four patients each week and then meets with his own therapist, played by Amy Ryan, on Fridays.

‘s show runners, Anya Epstein and Dan Futterman, join Terry Gross for a discussion about the Peabody Award-winning series and explain how they kept the current season’s episodes consistent with the show’s tone. The show’s third season, which began on Oct. 26, was the first season conceived entirely from scratch. The first two were adapted, often line by line, from Israeli writer Hagai Levi’s script.
